My workplace activity consisted of a 3-day placement at Clare Holland House (CHH).
I was given opportunities to shadow different clinicians as they reviewed patients receiving end-of-life care and attended the outpatient clinics. Staff provided a holistic approach, encompassing physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
This experience has led me to reflect on the following:
1) Looking back at my current/previous caseload, how could I have approached my interventions differently?
2) What are some of the ways that OT can provide a palliative care approach in the community? How can we work collaboratively with the existing palliative care service in the ACT?
3) Can our team incorporate the PCOC (or parts of it) in our comprehensive OT assessments?
