Pam Grey – Nanyima Care – QLD

In completing their workplace activity, Pam presented the ‘STOP and WATCH’ Early Warning Tool to colleagues. “We are trying to increase staff clinical knowledge of the clinical signs of deterioration and utilise this tool as part of our nursing staff AM and PM hurdles. We are using the descriptive language to teach staff what the signs are and what they may look like. Utilisation of this tool provides a structured framework to help staff identify changes that they may have seen and a quick identification of clinical deterioration should improve care outcomes. Staff can see the value in the added knowledge”.
