Tracey Sikora – RSL Life Care, Johnathon Rogers House

The way I feel I helped improve the care for the people around the palliative person was to keep a calm and open line of communication and involve the family with some of the cares being done – one eg is applying oral cares with a  mouth sponge and water , I have noticed that some family members feel honored to assist with the comfort giving to their family member and a care giver has an explainable relationship with families on their end of life journey.

The experience was rewarding to share and guide both the client / resident and their family by showing them and sharing ways to comfort  their loved ones.
