The Culturally responsive Palliative care Workshops promote principles of person and culture-centred care of people with a life-limiting illness, their families and communities. Two separate workshops are offered under this category:

  • Culturally-responsive palliative care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples workshop

This workshop provides dedicated training for non-Indigenous members of the healthcare team in relation to caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples affected by life-limiting illness.

The focus of this education is to enhance the capacity of the non-Indigenous health workforce to provide quality, holistic and culturally-responsive palliative care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

  • Culturally-responsive palliative care for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds workshop

This workshop provides dedicated training for all members of the healthcare team in relation to caring for people from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background, who are affected by life-limiting illness.

The focus of this education is to enhance the capacity of the healthcare workforce to provide quality, holistic and culturally-responsive palliative care for people from CALD backgrounds.
